Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy, and expensive and you probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Love everything about my maytag Gemini except

Submitted by Pat - 3/10/2017

I bought my second maytag Gemini only because I went with stainless steel appliances. Nothing was wrong with my white one, it provided years of hard working perfect performances. The new one is nice also, dependable heat, more burner sizes and temperatures. One light for both ovens, I can deal with that. BUT why did you only put one kitchen timer on it. Around the holidays I use both ovens each needing their own timer. Again, why only one timer?

Maytag does not back up their appliance

Submitted by Laurelee - 9/27/2016

I bought a Maytag double oven (model MET8776BS00) less than three years ago. When both ovens started taking forever to heat up, and then burnt my food, I contacted Maytag. They set me up with a repair service, and the bill arrived today - which was about half the cost of a new oven. While I expected to pay for labor, I was not expecting to pay for parts, which I had believed was covered under Maytag's 10 year limited warranty. I spoke with Maytag via chat, and with a live operator, who both confirmed that Maytag would not cover the cost of the oven control panel that needed to be replaced. I was surprised to discover that the limited ten year warranty only applies to: 1) replacing the glass-ceramic cooktop if due to thermal breakage, 2) replacing electric surface elements, and 3) replacing the electric bake/broil oven elements (but not convection elements). To quote "Although our appliances are manufactured under strict quality guidelines, occasionally an appliance will not operate as expected, failures can occur, or components may deteriorate." As the ovens have been used less than what could be considered even normal usage during the time I have owned it, it obviously failed due to their workmanship, and I am disappointed that Maytag takes no responsibility for ensuring a quality product.

Purchased with new home - in fact - I paid extra for this Range. Had one in the house I owned before this one and I knew that I couldn't settle for less. Ever try to cook Thanksgiving for 20 people in one oven??? Pretty difficult. But not with this Range and the Microwave! I can whip out a huge turkey, casseroles, gravy, veggies, etc. And don't forget the warming eye on top of the stove Make the gravy and then just let it sit to keep warm. Whether you are a super-cook, or just want to get a meal together, this Range is the BEST!!

Such poor quality and design - Underpowered

Submitted by N - 3/29/2016

Was so excited to get a new stove.....until I started to use it. First thing was that the burners were all not powered enough to boil water, cooking 101. The only one really strong enough to boil water is a huge burner which heated the handles on a small pan. The other side with the smaller burner is only 1K watts, under powered to boil water. The back burner marked melt is only 700 watts on high. Of course not knowing how many watts are required to actually boil make this a non-fact when selecting it, but now I know. So the unit is not even a year old and went to turn it on in the morning and the dial sparked out just turning the knob. Had to get a repair guy in here which took 3 days to schedule and then he had to order parts so almost 1 1/2 weeks with no burner to boil on! The double oven is great, convention is good. But the size of the smaller oven does burn the bottoms because it is so close to the element. Overall, stay clear the double ovens are not worth the lack of burners on this one. Bought a new one even though this is less than a year old. Additionally the dials are so confusing and awkward.

If you plan to cook DO NOT buy this!

Submitted by K - 2/16/2016

We had a beautiful new kitchen put in our home last Spring. My contractor and his designer recommended Maytag appliances because of the brand's reliability and the satisfied customers they have. Satisfied until Maytag discontinued the range they had been putting in people's homes. We purchased matching counter depth refrigerator, dishwasher, over the range microwave and the worst range I have ever tried to use. Maytag does not allow reference to price in a review. I have been cooking for over 50 years. I know what I am doing and I know what a range is intended to do. This one fails miserably. I truely hate this thing! The worst part of this horrible product is that it will not simmer food. It will either lightly boil or if turned down just a little more will become so cool I can put my finger in a pot of soup, pasta sauce or green chile that has been cooking for two hours! I have to literally stay in the kitchen the entire time the dish I'm trying to simmer is on the stove to keep adjusting the heat -worthless! The icon near the controls shows a cook top arranged like a 5 die. No so. There are two large front burners , two tiny back burners and a reasonably sized middle back burner that unfortunately does not cook, it is just for warming. I've used it zero times. The lack of temperature marks on all but the two tiny back burners is ridiculous! The triple front burners have two settings indicated, low and hi and nothing else to indicate where the temperature changes. The front right has power boost and at the 6 o'clock position med lo, a large blank space, hi and melt, not even dots to indicate where the temperature changes! I don't want to guess! The specifcations that you give as burner size are untrue. The two burners that have marked controls are only 5 " not 6". Who has pans that tiny? The warming only burner is 6 " but it does not reach cooking temperature so, useless. The triple burners are 11, 8 , and 5 ?. Why would you misrepresent something that important? The fan that runs every 10 seconds or so, very loudly, when not even using convection is very annoying. I was told by customer service this was to protect the electronics or something, bad design. The fan running the entire time ensures that grease from roasting meat is spread through out the entire oven! The FIRST time I used the lower oven a grease streak got between the two pieces of glass. It did not go away when I used the self cleaning function. The glass could not have been properly sealed. This happens to old ranges, not brand new ones! It is there forever. Yuck, a particular pet peeve of mine. No broiler pan, only 2 racks in the huge lower oven that would easily hold three, no keypad, requiring oh, what, about 90 pushes to set the oh so quiet timer for an hour and a half and a cook top that doesn't simmer, all that for about ... not allowed to refer to pricing. Do not buy this people, I've owned several ranges, never have I owned one with so many failures! Oh one more comment, the back left burner, not the knob, the burner has a a triangle on it labeled melt. No melt function on the knob, it's on the power boost burner. Makes me wonder did you take all the left over parts you had laying around, slap them all together and hope some sucker like me would buy it?

Maytag double oven electric range with convection

Submitted by Grandmama - 2/5/2016

It's absolutely fantastic. I do a lot of baking and love the double ovens. I had an older model maytag double oven, but this model is even better. It is a pity the salesmen don't have the knowledge to promote this oven. I had a hard job trying to find out the differences between this model and the cheaper model. The larger oven heats up so quickly it is well worth the extra money and the top oven cooks perfectly. Don't hesitate to buy this. It is well worth the money.

Epic fail in design

Submitted by Karen - 2/5/2016

We purchased this to replace an earlier version of this range and we made the purchase because we loved the predecessor. It served us well for 15 years. Thus far, the cooking surface has performed satisfactorily and heats quicker than our previous range. I cannot say the same about the range; I am most dissatisfied with the controls and the oven. Maytag has cut so many corners in those years on the oven and controls, this "new" model is a poor and cheap imitation, only it wasn't cheap at all! The design features I loved and depended on are all gone, 3 racks in the lower oven, a rolling oven rack, QUALITY, sturdy racks with well- spaced supports, the list of what's missing in this oven goes on and on. I used to bake three trays of rolls in the main oven on convection. Now, not only are there not three racks, the wall rack supports are spaced so oddly, it's not even possible to fit the same 3 trays and roll holders in this oven at one time. The racks - only 2 now in the large oven, have very widely spaced supports and smaller items tip between them. There are still two ovens, but no longer are there two timers. What sense does that make? The controls are tedious and poorly designed, requiring the user to push "-" and "+" buttons endlessly to set timers, temperatures instead of easily entering a temp through a touch pad. The hot surface indicator is no longer a easy to see light directly ON the cooking surface, but now a tiny little light nested within all the graphics on the back within the control panel. I could go on and on. It will take me far longer and require multiple baking sessions to do the same cooking/baking activities I used to do in a single batch. I regret spending the money for this range and if I could return it I would. I will not waste my money on Maytag again. If you want thoughtful design, look elsewhere.

Maytag Gemeni

Submitted by Sandi the baker - 1/26/2016

Purchased this range about five years ago when my kitchen was renovated. I looked forward to having two ovens with the large one being a convection. Love the small oven and use it 75% of the time and I love it. Using it for making toast is convenient but it gets so hot and takes a very long time to cool down. The large oven is a disappointment because the convection feature has never worked. Nice having a timer for each oven but they aren't loud enough. I can't hear them in the next room. At first I was impressed with how quickly the burners changed temperature but after a few years they don't respond very fast. The top of the oven is terribly scratched, and I never was successful finding out what pots wouldn't scratch it. I got my first two scratches a month after it was installed using what I thought was a safe pot with smooth bottom. Tried to contact Maytag and could never get anyone to answer the phone. Now it looks terrible. I don't understand because Corning has been making glass baking dishes for years that don't scratch and there are other makes of stove tops that friends have purchased that have held up much better. I would never recommend Maytag even though my dryer is still working after 25 years.

Soooo dissappointed

Submitted by Baker - 11/27/2015

I have been searching for a new range for at least 6 months. My old range was starting to have issues and I really wanted a double oven as I like to bake and loved the idea of using a smaller oven when it is just the two of us. Every store I went to I checked out their ranges and found features I liked and disliked. I had it narrowed down to two different ones and decided to shop local and get this one from a dealer who provides excellent service. I wish I had gone the other way. In my opinion, either this oven was designed by a male or a female who never cooks. I have so many complaints that I don't know where to start. The thing that is the most annoying is how the upper oven cooks. You put a pan of anything in to bake and the back is very done while the front is not. I have tried different pans and items to cook and it always has the same results. I don't want to have to turn the food half way through the cooking process as I lose way too much heat doing that. It doesn't make any difference if I am cooking with one pan or two. It just bakes uneven. I make meringue pies often and the back is a dark brown while the front is barely brown. That is one of the reasons I got rid of my old oven as it was starting to burn things in the back and this one is doing it right off the bat. Another problem with the upper oven is when you open the oven door and pull the rack out, it scrapes on the door. The door placement needs to be 1/2" lower so that it doesn't scratch the door. If you lift the rack up while you pull it out then it clears but you shouldn't have to do that to remove the pans from the oven plus there is hardly room to pull the rack out because the door sits so close. Even the top oven light burned out after a week of using it and I never turn the oven light feature on. This thing just has issues! Now on to the convection lower oven. I make pie shells and put some on both racks. There is no way that they all cook the same. Some are very done while the others are barely done. That is why I wanted to get the convection feature as I really used it with my last oven and this did nothing but disappoint. No way could you put two pans of cookies in there and have them done the same at the same time. Another big annoyance is the timer. When the cooking time is done it gives one beep and that is it. If you are not standing close by, you do not hear it and things get overbaked. It does give another beep a minute later but once again you have to be close by to hear it. I don't even use that feature anymore as I just grab my old kitchen timer that continues to beep until you shut it off. Now up to the cooktop. Someone had complained about the three burners setting and they were correct. It is hard to adjust the heat for the smaller burners as there is only a very small amount that you can turn the burner knob. Also, when the small burner is on, the outside of the outside burner also comes on. The two different melt features is just a waste. Not sure how much people melt things but one burner with that feature would have been plenty. The pros about the range is that it is a very nice looking range but that doesn't even begin to make up for the baking and cooking performance. I had very high hopes for this range and was excited to use it and now I am just upset every time I use it.

wish I had done more research

Submitted by Judy - 10/20/2015

We purchased this stove as I thought it was the same Maytag we had originally. Love the double oven as we usually only use the top except for holidays. The best options from the last maytag we had are GONE - NO KEYPAD, you have to hit the + and - buttons to get a temperature, to set the timer -which by the way automatically shuts the oven off when the timer is done - most dishes need more time so you have to turn the oven back on - using the + or - keys - SO FRUSTRATING - also the last maytag had a toasting feature - now I had to buy a toaster which takes up counter space! my fault for not researching throughly but this is the worst oven! Who would build an oven without a keypad????? Lastly this cooktop is awful and does not clean easily like the last one - looks like the same material but clearly it is not. This range is a huge disappointment.

Upgraded to match appliance finishes and glad we did

Submitted by Jim - 10/4/2015

We recently purchased this new double over to match the new stainless steel refrigerator we purchased. We did upgrade to the double oven and very glad we did. We typically use the much smaller top oven (approximately 85% of the time). This preheats much quicker and uses less electricity to cook the majority of items we are cooking. But for the cookies we do use the larger oven to utilize the convection oven to make sure they are cooked just right! So far everything is working great. The 10 year warranty is a nice piece of assurance (even though ranges typically have few issues it's nice to know if there is one it will be covered).

Misleading photos - not good if you have children

Submitted by JM - 9/24/2015

The photos show 4 knobs, each with a blue dot on it that looks light a light that goes on when the knob is turned and the cooktop is in use. It is NOT. It is a dummy light. Just a colored dot. Plus the 1 light that does go on when the cooktop is on is tiny (probably less than 1/16" round) and placed within 1/2" below 1 of the knobs. So almost impossible to see even when on. Poor choice for families with kids.

Great!

This stove replaced a Maytag Gemini that I bought 12 years ago. I love the double oven convenience and the multiple options on the cooking surface.

Not happy at all - Multiple issues from the beginning

Submitted by AirForceVet - 5/26/2015

My wife and I purchased this oven, brand new, and had it installed about a month ago. As of right now, we hate it. Every time we use the lower oven for NON-convection bake, the fan runs every 10-15 seconds for 5-7 second intervals during the ENTIRE bake cycle, which is really annoying since it's kind of loud. The fan actually causes the sheet metal on the back of the oven to rattle. The rattling is so loud, I can hear it at the end of the hall, 40 feet away. Another issue - The triple element on top doesn't work properly. The element only works when it's on 'low' and 'high'. Whenever I try to set it to a medium heat setting, it doesn't heat. I can literally put my hand on top of the frying pan and it isn't even warm. I called Maytag to have these repaired under warranty over two weeks ago. After a week of not hearing anything from the local warranty repair business, I called Maytag to see why I haven't been contacted. It was because Maytag screwed up the dispatch, and the local company didn't receive my name, number, or address. Maytag then corrected it, and sent a correct dispatch. The local warranty repair guys finally looked at the oven today and they determined: - The fan motor is bad and needs to be replaced. - The element, thermostat and switch for the triple element needs to be replaced. - The sheet metal covering the electrical connections on the back of the oven was not properly fastened at the factory. Almost all of the holes for the sheet metal screws are too big for the screws. For 3 of the screws, you can literally push the screw all the way in because the threads don't catch the sheet metal. This is causing some of the rattling. To fix this, I might have to put weatherstripping on the backside, and re-fasten the sheet metal with larger screws. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. We paid good money for this. We tried to return this range to the store because it's a nightmare, but Maytag won't allow it. I grew up in a home where we couldn't afford nice things, and the appliances we used were less than half the price and treated us better than this piece of junk. We bought a Maytag dishwasher the same day we purchased this, and had to have two warranty repairs on it during the first 2 months of ownership. Not going with Maytag/Whirlpool again.

We bought this a month ago and have enjoyed it a lot. The two ovens are wonderful. The top oven is perfect for us for every day and heats up quickly. When we had company I used both ovens and it worked great. The only issue is that the small heating units are both on the back of the cooktop. The one small one in front is with a triple unit and is a little hard to regulate.

Love this double-oven!!

Submitted by Crispy 13 - 4/3/2015

Just had my new double-oven delivered about 2 weeks ago. I'm still getting used to the features but mostly an easy process as this replaces a 12 yr. old Gemini. What I love most about this new one: 1) Convection cooking. 2) larger (triple) size settings for largest top cook-top burner. 3) kind of a "retro" look w/ the large metal knobs and stainless steel. The name "Gemini" doesn't even appear on it and the Maytag logo is placed at the bottom. Wonderful stove.

Just got this today. Went to bake 1st thing for 3hr and 30 min and couldnt figure out how to get the hr to change. Contacted Maytag and was told by 2 people the only option I have for this model to to click the minute button 210 times. REALLY? my old cheap stove I could set it with 5 pushes of buttons.

Love the instant heat on the stove top

Submitted by seagull - 3/17/2015

We bought this stove because our old stove, which came with the house, was so slow to heat up that everyone complained. There are only two people that live at the house but we have lots of visitor,(family and friend). It is at a lake. This stove came and what a difference. WOW instant heat, when you turn on the burner.

What a great range. Absolutely love it. Glasstops are the way to go. Not to mention i like the burners sized to the size of your pot. Double ovens are the best for making dinners and everything is ready to go at the same time.

Love the double oven

Submitted by DCRick - 2/10/2015

Being able to have everything finish at the same time is great, also having the bottom oven heat faster when its being used alone comes in handy as well. The triple zone burner on top needs more fine control when it comes to setting temperature. the small and medium zones only have 4 or so clicks to set the temp which can be frustrating but you get used to it. The large powerboost burner works just as it says and can bring large pots to a boil in a minamal amount of time.

Love having double ovens!

Submitted by Anglee - 11/30/2014

Double ovens was the main feature I was looking for when I purchased this stove along with Made In America. Love being able to cook two things at once at different temperatures! I have a large skillet I use all the time and the extra large burner is perfect for cooking with it. The power boost burner probably gets the most use having a child who wants fed quickly and by myself heating tea water. Extremely happy with my purchase!

I was forced to replace my range when it broke and parts were no longer available. Research on the best performing ranges that met my requirements for a double oven, true convection, performance and reliability, the Gemini Double Oven fit the bill.

I had a Gemini that was ten years old, LOVED IT. I gave it to my daughter and bought my new one. The burners are slow and low in the controls and the oven / timer controls need a keypad as the + / - function is a disaster !

My second Gemini

Submitted by smittycity - 8/3/2014

Only had it a month, so its too soon to know how this one will be in the long run. My first Gemini had the control panel go out after 9 years. For the cost, it seems it should last longer. This new one has many more bells and whistles - love the 5th top burner (warmer) and the convection oven. Don't love the racks. A lip at the front edge was removed, making it easy for pans to slide out beyond the rack.
